Malmö Festival Poster
Today we got a letter from SNASK, the swedish design agency. As we love their ideas and the way they are working on things, with such great creativity and endless patience, we present to you their new creation.
They have been working with the City of Malmö on the festival Malmöfestivalen for 5 years, Scandinavia’s largest city festival. This year is the 30th anniversary and SNASK decided to do something bigger and better ever done before. And what would be nicer than making the biggest poster ever made and turn it into an entire physical area? Said and done this was done during the period of final idea presented in February followed by 4 months of execution. In the end of May it was built up by hand and photographed 30 meters up in the air. In mid August the poster/area will stand on the festival for people to interact with, sit on, jump on and sleep on. If you have the chance go there and have a view!

Though not a father himself, self-taught photographer (and one of 2014′s PDN’s 30) Zun Lee has worked on his personal project exploring the relationship between father and son for over two years. Lee was raised by Korean parents, but in 2004, he found out his biological dad was African-American, allegedly leaving when his mother was pregnant with him. “For a long time, holding on to the pain of that discovery was easier than dealing with it,” Lee writes in a statement on his website. “Without any information about my father’s identity or whereabouts, the only way to come to terms with my feelings was to examine them through photography.” With “Father Figure,” Lee aims to “counteract the stereotype” that African-American men are “absent fathers [and] deadbeats.”
